Privacy Policy

ZillaKit ("we", "us") is built around a simple promise: your files stay on your device. This policy explains exactly what happens when you use the site.

Your files are processed locally

Almost every tool on ZillaKit runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. When you convert, compress, resize or generate something, the file is read and processed on your own device. It is never uploaded to us, and we never see its contents.

A small number of tools cannot work that way, and each of them says so on its own page before you use it:

• Speech to text (audio transcription, and the voice-to-quote tool) uploads the audio you choose, because speech recognition cannot run on a phone. Those jobs and their files are deleted automatically within 24 hours.
• The Office document converters (Word, Excel and PowerPoint to and from PDF) upload the document, because the conversion needs a real office engine. The uploaded file and the converted result are deleted within an hour, and sooner once you have downloaded the result.
• YouTube Transcript sends only the public video ID you provide, so we can fetch that video's publicly available captions. No file from your device is involved.
• PC Builder asks our server for current part prices by part name. Nothing about you is sent with the request.
• The AI writing features send the text you type to an external AI provider to generate a response. Do not paste confidential information into them.

Files sent for conversion or transcription are used only to complete the job you asked for. They are not read by us for any other purpose, not shared, and not used to train anything.

Local storage

We use your browser's localStorage to remember a small amount of information on your device, including your daily free-usage counter and whether you have an active Premium flag. This data lives in your browser only and is not transmitted to us.

Email you provide

If you sign up as a founding member on the Premium page, we store the email address you submit so we can contact you about Premium availability. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Accounts and support

If you create an account we store your email address and a hashed password so you can sign in, along with your subscription status. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details. If you send a support ticket we store the name, email address and message you provide so we can reply to you and keep the thread available for you to look up later. You can ask us to delete any of this at any time.

Advertising

We display advertising through Google AdSense to keep ZillaKit free. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can learn more and opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ads Settings and the resources at aboutads.info.

Analytics

We keep a simple count of page and tool views so we know which tools are worth improving. It is aggregate and anonymous, it stays on our own systems, and it is not sold or shared. We do not build advertising profiles of visitors, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
