Binaural Beats Generator
Play two precise tones, one per ear, to create a binaural beat for relaxation, focus and reflection. Free, instant, and your audio never leaves your device.
How to use the Binaural Beats Generator
- Put on a pair of stereo headphones or earbuds — this is essential for the effect to work.
- Pick a preset (Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta or Gamma) or drag the carrier and beat frequency sliders yourself.
- Adjust the volume slider to a comfortable level.
- Click "Play" (your browser requires a click to start audio) and watch the pulse animation sync to the beat frequency.
- Optionally set a 15, 30 or 60 minute sleep timer so playback stops automatically.
Why use ZillaKit's Binaural Beats Generator?
A binaural beat is created when two slightly different tones are played separately into each ear — the left ear hears one steady frequency, the right ear hears a second frequency a few hertz apart, and the brain perceives a third, pulsing "beat" at the difference between the two. This generator builds both tones live using the Web Audio API, with one oscillator panned fully left and one panned fully right, so the effect is accurate and adjustable in real time. Choose from five named presets spanning the common brainwave-associated ranges — Delta for deep relaxation, Theta for meditation, Alpha for calm focus, Beta for alertness and Gamma for concentration — or dial in your own carrier frequency (100-500 Hz) and beat frequency (0.5-40 Hz) for a fully custom session. A pulsing visual animation mirrors the beat frequency so you have a gentle visual anchor alongside the audio, and an optional sleep timer lets you drift off without worrying about the tones playing all night. Everything renders locally in your browser tab using synthesized oscillators — there is no audio file to download or upload, no signup, and no limit on how long or how often you use it.
FAQ
Do I really need headphones?
Yes. Binaural beats rely on each ear receiving a different frequency at the same time. Through speakers, both ears hear both tones blended together and the beat effect disappears.
What is the difference between the carrier and beat frequency?
The carrier frequency is the base tone pitch (100-500 Hz) that both ears hear. The beat frequency is the small difference between the left and right tones, which is what your brain perceives as a rhythmic pulse.
What do Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta and Gamma mean here?
They are common names for different beat-frequency ranges, offered here simply as relaxation, focus and entertainment presets — Delta (2 Hz) for deep relaxation, Theta (6 Hz) for meditation, Alpha (10 Hz) for calm focus, Beta (20 Hz) for alertness, and Gamma (35 Hz) for concentration.
Is this a medical or therapeutic treatment?
No. This tool is provided purely for relaxation, focus, reflection and entertainment. It makes no medical, healing or therapeutic claims and is not a substitute for professional advice or care.
Why did nothing play when the page loaded?
Browsers require a direct user click before they will start audio playback. Simply click the "Play" button once and the tones will begin.
Is any audio uploaded or recorded?
No. Both tones are synthesized live in your browser using the Web Audio API. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
