Why use ZillaKit's Split PDF tool?
Splitting runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib, so your document is never uploaded to a server. That keeps invoices, reports, and scanned paperwork private — nothing leaves your device. There's no signup, no watermark on the output, and no page-count paywall for everyday use. You can pull out precise ranges with familiar syntax like 1-3,5,8-10, or explode a whole document into single-page files delivered as one convenient ZIP. Because there's no upload round-trip, it's fast even for long documents and keeps working offline once loaded. Five free splits are included each day, with more available in seconds if you need them.
FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
What range syntax can I use?
Comma-separated pages and ranges, for example 1-3,5,8-10. Pages are counted from 1 and kept in the order you list them.
Can I get each page as its own file?
Yes. Pick "Every page as a separate PDF" and the tool builds one PDF per page, then packages them all into a single ZIP for download.
What about encrypted PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs can't be split directly and will show a clear error. Remove the password with the original app first.
