JPG has no transparency. Any see-through pixels are painted with the background colour above (white by default).

How to convert PNG to JPG

    1. Drop your .png files onto the drop zone, or click to browse for them.
    2. If your PNGs have transparent areas, pick the background colour they should be filled with.
    3. Slide the quality control down for smaller files or up to keep more detail.
    4. Click Convert to JPG. One image downloads on its own; several arrive as a single zip.

    Why convert PNG to JPG?

PNG is a lossless format, which is wonderful for crisp screenshots and graphics but terrible for file size once you are dealing with photographs. A photo saved as PNG can easily be five to ten times larger than the same picture as a JPG, because PNG stores every pixel exactly while JPG uses perceptual compression that the eye barely notices. If you are attaching photos to an email, uploading to a forum with a size cap, or trimming a folder that has ballooned out of control, converting PNG to JPG is the quickest way to reclaim space. The one thing to keep in mind is transparency: JPG simply cannot store an alpha channel. That is why this tool asks you which colour to place behind your image. White suits most cases, but if your PNG logo is going onto a coloured page you can match that colour here and avoid an ugly white box. Everything is processed with the HTML canvas inside your own browser, so even large batches of private photos never touch a server. There is no signup, no watermark, and no upload progress bar to sit through.

    FAQ

Will I lose quality converting PNG to JPG?

JPG is lossy, so there is some compression. At a quality of around 0.9 the difference is usually invisible for photos. For sharp text or line art, PNG or WebP will look cleaner.

What happens to transparent parts of my PNG?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background colour you choose. The default is white; use the colour picker to match your destination.

How much smaller will the JPG be?

It depends on the content. Photographic PNGs often shrink by 70–90%. Flat graphics and screenshots may shrink less, or occasionally grow, because PNG already compresses them well.

    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API. Your PNGs are never sent to any server.
