How to use the invoice generator

  1. Enter your business name, ABN or tax ID, address and contact details, and upload your logo if you have one. These are remembered in your browser for next time.
  2. Add the client you are billing, then set the invoice number, issue date, due date and currency.
  3. Add one line item per job or product: description, quantity and unit price. The line total and subtotal update as you type.
  4. Set the tax label and rate (GST at 10% is the default for Australia; switch it to VAT, sales tax or turn tax off) and add a discount if needed.
  5. Write your payment terms, check the live preview, then click Download PDF to save a print-ready invoice.

Why use ZillaKit's invoice generator?

Most free invoice tools ask you to create an account, hand over your client list, and then paywall the PDF export. This one does not. It runs entirely in your browser: your business details, your clients, your rates and your logo are never uploaded to a server, and the PDF is generated on your own device. That matters, because an invoice contains some of the most sensitive information a small business holds — bank details, tax numbers, customer addresses and how much you charge.

The invoice itself is built to be taken seriously. It uses a clean, conventional layout that accountants and clients recognise: business header with logo, bill-to block, an itemised table, a totals column showing subtotal, discount and tax, and your payment terms at the bottom. Tax is flexible — 10% GST is the Australian default, but you can rename the label to VAT, sales tax or anything else, change the rate, switch between tax-exclusive and tax-inclusive pricing, or turn it off entirely for a business under the registration threshold. Discounts can be a fixed amount or a percentage of the subtotal, and are applied before tax so the maths is correct.

Your business details, tax settings and payment terms are saved locally, so raising the next invoice takes seconds. No signup, no subscription, no watermark on the document itself, and no limits on how many invoices you create.

FAQ

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. You can create and download as many PDF invoices as you like. The free tier adds a single small "Invoice created with ZillaKit.com" line in the page footer; Premium removes it and adds a commercial licence. There is no signup and no credit card.

Does my invoice data get uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser. Your business details, logo, clients and amounts are never sent to a server, and the PDF is built on your device using jsPDF. If you close the tab, the only thing kept is what your browser saved locally for you.

Can I use it for GST invoices in Australia?

Yes. The default tax label is GST at 10%, and the document is titled "Tax Invoice" with a field for your ABN — the essentials the ATO expects on a tax invoice. Always check your own obligations, since requirements depend on whether you are registered for GST and the value of the sale.

Can I change GST to VAT or a different rate?

Yes. The tax label and rate are both editable, so you can invoice with VAT at 20%, sales tax at any rate, or switch tax off completely. You can also choose whether your prices already include tax or have tax added on top.

Will my business details be saved for next time?

Yes. Your business name, tax ID, address, contact details, logo, currency, tax settings and payment terms are stored in your browser's local storage. Use "Clear saved data" to wipe them, for example on a shared computer.

Can I add my own logo?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPEG and it appears at the top of the invoice and in the downloaded PDF. The image is read locally as a data URL and never uploaded.
